Youth Development Tutoring & Enrichment

Some of our RCLC kids during activity time

The after-school tutoring and enrichment program serves 60 students in grades 1st through 12th. The program aims to develop literacy, provide opportunities, and build relationships with and for the students in the Northeast Neighborhood and the greater South Bend community. The program is held from 3:30 to 6:00 on Monday through Friday. Within that time-frame every student receives one hour of one-on-one literacy-based tutoring instruction and homework help. The remaining hours are spent in enrichment classes.
Enrichment classes offered to 6th through 12th grade students include My America, an interactive history-based course, Be Inspired, a speaker series focused on community professionals, College Prep, and Writing and Research Skills. Enrichment classes offered to 1st through 5th grade students include art, creative writing, geography, gardening, science, public speaking, and more!
Students from the 46617 zip code are given priority in attendance and registration dates for the year-long program are held in early August.
