Carmen Macharaschwili serves as the Curriculum Developer for Talk with Your Baby, a vital early literacy initiative at the University of Notre Dame. She brings more than twenty years of experience in instructional design, teacher preparation, and digital literacy.

A South Bend native, Carmen is happy to return to her roots to advocate for local families through a bilingual, family-centered curriculum. Born to an immigrant mother, she draws on her personal and professional experiences to design inclusive and empowering learning opportunities for the community she calls home.

Her background spans classroom teaching, faculty development, and educational consulting, with expertise in Language, Literacy, and Culture Education. She has developed best practices in both pedagogy and andragogy, and her work often integrates online learning, digital literacy, and AI literacy to create accessible and engaging educational experiences.

Carmen holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with a bilingual endorsement, an M.S.Ed. in Education and Administration, and a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture Education from Indiana University.
