Amy Nussbaum serves as Director of the Talk With Your Baby Program at the Robinson Community Learning Center at the University of Notre Dame. With over 20 years of experience in education, Amy has dedicated her career to supporting children, families, educators, and communities.
Prior to joining the Robinson Community Learning Center, Amy served as Assistant Director of Literacy Design Innovation within Notre Dame’s Institute for Educational Initiatives. Her professional experience also includes serving as a Montessori educator, Head of School, university instructor, and supervisor and mentor of graduate-level educators. Throughout her career, she has led community-based educational initiatives, developed curriculum and professional learning, built partnerships among universities, schools, and community organizations, and worked to translate research into meaningful practices that improve outcomes for children.
A South Bend native, Amy is especially passionate about the earliest years of a child’s life and the important role parents and caregivers play in shaping language, learning, relationships, and development. Through Talk With Your Baby, she is committed to expanding partnerships and ensuring families have access to practical, research-based tools that help their children thrive.
Amy holds a master’s degree in teaching and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Literacy at St. John’s University. She is married to her husband, Danny, and together they have three boys.
Biography
