RCLC's Black Lives Matter Statement

Author: Andy Kostielney

In the spirit of Renelda Robinson, we at the Robinson Community Learning Center would like to make clear that we believe that Black lives matter, and to offer our support and encouragement to the current nationwide movement. The RCLC celebrates diversity and inclusion. Our core values are based in the belief that education is one of the most important facets of social justice. We would like to affirm our mission to provide educational opportunities for our vibrant and diverse community, and to note that we are an open center that is supportive of all ages, races, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations. Although we are now in a new building, we remain committed to serving all with a passion for learning, equality, and social justice.

The murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and too many other Black Americans are a painful reminder of the pervasive and systemic injustices that affect our Black community members. We mourn this loss of life, and in the midst of this movement for equity and justice, we will continue to foster an environment of affirmation that does not tolerate racism of any kind and works to uplift and support Black voices.
