Jenae Longenecker

Program Coordinator
Moreau College Initiative

Jenae is a recent graduate of Goshen College, where she studied history and peace studies. While at Goshen, she took an Inside Out course at the Elkhart County Jail and worked on a community research project with the Elkhart County Reentry Initiative. In doing this work, Jenae became interested in questions of racial justice and mass incarceration in the United States. This year, Jenae is excited to be serving with the Moreau College Initiative, a college-in-prison partnership between Holy Cross College, the University of Notre Dame, and the Bard Prison Initiative. Jenae directly engages students at the Westville Correctional Facility, facilitating study hall sessions and helping incarcerated college students with their research and writing. She is also excited about planning an exhibit showcasing the work of MCI students. Outside of MCI, Jenae enjoys literature, theater, visual arts, holidays, and coffee. Following her year of AmeriCorps service, she intends to pursue a career in legal aid.
