Literacy Tutoring Available

We have openings in our after school literacy tutoring program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.  

The tutoring takes place at the RCLC from 4:00 to 4:50pm, every Monday through Thursday.

Velshonna Luckey receives 2016 Executive Journey Fellowship

Velshonna Luckey has been awarded a 2016 Executive Journey Fellowship.

She is one of 29 youth workers statewide receiving the fellowship, which has been annually awarded since 2002. Funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc., the fellowship provides Indiana’s youth workers greater opportunities to bring more meaning to their lives and make stronger commitments to the field. The fellows attend a series of residential retreats designed to create new ways of thinking about and practicing youth work within existing systems and youth programs, are awarded individual renewal scholarships, and are supported to make a difference within their local organizations or communities.…

Join Our Tutor Team!

Spring 2016

 

Tutors are needed to help provide free tutoring to low-income students in second through fourth grade from local schools. Volunteer tutors provide one-on-one or small group literacy tutoring with lesson plans that align to the Indiana State Standards.  Children will read aloud, work on comprehension, writing and vocabulary daily.
