In recent years, the neighborhood near the University of Notre Dame has undergone tremendous change, with new housing and retail buildings constructed, and many residents moving into or out of the neighborhood.
A panel discussion about revitalization and gentrification in South Bend will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Philbin Studio Theater in DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at Notre Dame. The event is free and open to the general public.
The discussion is titled: “Some Change is Inevitable: A Conversation about Revitalization and Gentrification in South Bend.”
The panelists will include: Marguerite Taylor, board member of the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization, officer of the North East Neighborhood Council, and Adult Program Director at the RCLC.
The discussion will be moderated by Jackie Rucker, Notre Dame’s Associate Director of Community Relations.
